Circular View looking for a new site

Circular View (Valencia’s future London Eye ?) is the huge touristic and commercial project, which struggle to see the day, which could give the city an additional advantage in terms of image and number of tourists… But the Consorcio 2007 which regroups the Marina of Valencia, the Generalitat and the town hall just have refused its installation in the heart of the Marina, arguing that it is not part of its medium or long-term development plan. Thus, the promoters of the project are currently discussing about alternative locations, like a wasteland of 20,000 m² near the Oceanographic.

For the last 4 years, the teams of the company Starneth have been working on what should be the highest wheel in Europe with a height of 120 meters… Originally designed for the Marina of Valencia, this project was to serve as a “bridge” between the city and the port, extending the famous ultra-futuristic buildings of the City of Arts and Sciences.

120 million euros of total investment are estimated, about 2 million potential visitors and most of all more than 250 700  direct and indirect jobs that would generate the installation and operation of this wheel which according to its promoters “would contribute to the economic development of Valencia by strengthening its position in the tourism sector. It will undoubtedly be an additional element to attract coast and beach tourism (about 28 million people a year) helping the seasonal visitor flow and relieve congestion from the city center.

They still have to convince the administration and political leaders who are sometimes reluctant or even hostile to such huge projects.
